1 Billion Children with URE
- There are approximately 2.7 billion people living with uncorrected refractive error (URE), 1 billion of these are children.
- By the year 2050, there will be more than 1.3 billion children with myopia.
- By the year 2050, there will be more than 900 million children with uncorrected refractive errors, and 92% of these children will live in developing economies.

Functional Vision should be a Universal Human Right
- There is a need for world-wide and easily accessible child eye care services, that ensures that no child is excluded.
- There is no organization in the world that is dedicated specifically to refractive error correction and vision in children.

Our Proposal
- A dedicated and child-focused initiative, which strives to expand child eye health services by establishing robust and sustainable programs.
- CURE will work towards making much-needed eye care and low vision services accessible to all children in the world.
- Our emphasis will be on refractive services working with a network of partner organizations across the globe. This will have significant impact on the control and prevention of myopia as well as rehabilitative support for children with low vision.
